John Green's play, The Liquid Moon, debuted at Chicago Dramatists (where he is a resident writer) and won the Jeff Award and After Dark Award for best new work. It had a sold-out run at Virginia's Barter Theater and was published in the anthology, New Plays From Chicago. His comedy, Hamburger Twins, debuted at Chicago's Briar Street Theatre and has since been done at Colorado's Creede Repertory Theatre and in Paris at Theater de La Main D'or. Mister Happy was workshopped in New York at Manhattan Punchline Theatre and produced at Chicago Dramatists and Shadow Box Cabaret in Columbus, Ohio. My Song, a play with music, premiered at Circle Theatre. Twilight Serenade, which has been optioned by Top Dog Films, debuted at Chicago's Red Hen Productions, as did his autobiographical musical, Going Up. Green's play, Hiding, was a finalist in the Tennessee Williams One-Act Contest. His political farce, The (W)hole Thing, was produced by Stage Left Theatre.
